Road Trip: Hillside, Burro Creek and Nothing Arizona
You are all the rage in these times. You know it, we know it. When it comes to picking a new family dog the rule is small, smaller, smallest. My neighbor may have a dog that will fit in a tea cup, but I have one who'll fit in a thimble!
This is understandable. After all, the smaller the dog, the less space he takes up. And the less food he consumes. And the less, ahem, "by-product" he produces.
And I will ask my fellow humans out there to compare having a chihuahua jump into your lap with a St. Bernard doing same. With the former you have a cute, adorable, fur covered insect snuggling up to you. Oh, how adorable! Isn't he precious? I just love my little, snuggily, wiggly pet!
Now, think of the consequences from having the St. Bernard jump into your lap. At best you would need an immediate shower and a change of clothes, because you would be covered head to toe with "Huge Dog" Drool. Five gallons worth, to be precise.
At worst you would need knee or hip, or both, replacement surgery, since the average St. Bernard weighs over 700 pounds.
So, you can see that there are many advantages that you small dogs have over larger breeds. I haven't even mentioned how intelligent you are, or your amazing ability to bark insanely, and for hours, if you sense any kind of threat at all to your castle, such as armed , crazed zombies swarming thru the front door, or a butterfly flapping lazily across the front lawn, stirring up several molecules in your Zone of Alertness.
Yet, in spite all of that, there seems to be one thing you are utterly incapable of doing, which is STAND STILL LONG ENOUGH TO HAVE YOUR PICTURE TAKEN!
So, if you wonder why I took your picture and it didn't show up on this blog, it is because you move at or near the speed of light--and I'm just to old to keep up with you.
Something to think about, Small Dog, if you want your 15 minutes of fame.
(Note to small dog owners. Please have your pet read this notice before your next walk around the courthouse. Thank you)
